ILR is currently undergoing a review and evaluation of PREMIER to redefine and update its mission and goals. The ILR program at the 2006 MLA Annual Conference will continue the discussion of how to revive PREMIER to best serve the ILR constituents. Promoting Research Education in Michigan: In-Service Educational Resources
The PREMIER Project is a unique professional development service created by the Michigan Library Association Information Literacy Roundtable to help academic libraries and librarians meet increasing demands for instructional services.
PREMIER defines Research Education as a comprehensive, integrated approach to information literacy which emphasizes collaboration - between course instructors, instruction librarians, reference librarians and other academic professionals.
The PREMIER process includes consultations and one or more in-service workshops tailored to the needs and interests of specific institutions.
PREMIER is made possible through the concept of professional volunteerism, bringing together diverse teams of active, experienced instruction librarians and others as presenters and facilitators.
