The MLA Board of Directors expressed concern with Governor Snyder's proposed 40% cut to state aid to libraries, meaning all libraries are in jeopardy of losing statewide services.  "This is coupled with the fact that we are facing a perfect storm of funding cuts- every source of funding available to libraires is being eroded - state aid, renaissance zone reimbursements, tax capture of dedicated millages, elimination of personal property tax and federal funds.  There isn't much more we can take and be expected to survive,"  states Christine Berro, MLA President.
